About the Course
HLTSS00064 Infection Control Skill Set (Health) reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centered support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centered support.

A set of skills to follow organisational infection prevention and control policies and procedures, including implementing standard and transmission-based precautions and responding to infection risks in the workplace.
Entry Requirements
- Be 15 years of age
- Have sound communication skills
- Undertake and complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy Assessment
- Must have a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) and Police check.
- Influenza vaccination before they attend work placement
- Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination certificate required (Unless medical exemption is provided )

Pathways
Units from this skill set can contribute to credit towards HLT3315 Health Service Assistance and other relevant courses where infection control skills are required.
Statement of Attainment
You will be able to obtain a statement of Attainment after successful competition of this unit of competency from the HLT Health Training Package provides a set of skills for implementing infection control policies and procedures in the workplace.
